Bruno Miguel Borges Fernandes (born 8 September 1994) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder and captains both Premier League club Manchester United and the Portugal national team. Regarded as one of the best midfielders in the world, he is known for his vision, passing, shooting, and penalty-taking ability. Fernandes started his career at Novara before moving to Udinese and Sampdoria in Italy. In 2017, he signed with Sporting CP. He won back-to-back Taças da Liga in 2018 and 2019, the Taça de Portugal in 2019, and led Sporting to the 2019 Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira as team captain. In January 2020, he signed for Manchester United in a transfer worth an initial €55 million, and was appointed club captain in July 2023. Since joining United, he has won the EFL Cup and FA Cup.
