Lautaro Javier Martínez (born 22 August 1997) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a striker for Serie A club Inter Milan, which he captains, and the Argentina national team. Known for his work rate, positioning, link-up play, and finishing, Martínez is regarded as one of the best strikers in the world. He began his professional career at Racing Club, where he won the 2014 Argentine Primera División championship. In 2018, he joined Inter Milan for a reported fee of €25 million. With Inter, he has won two Serie A titles, two Coppa Italia titles, and three Supercoppa Italiana titles. Martínez was the top scorer in Serie A for the 2023–24 season with 24 goals. At international level, Martínez was part of the Argentina squad that won the 2021 Copa América and the 2022 FIFA World Cup, where he scored in the final.
