Bernardo Mota Veiga de Carvalho e Silva (born 10 August 1994) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a midfielder or right winger for Premier League club Manchester City and the Portugal national team. Considered one of the best midfielders in the world, Silva is known for his creativity, dribbling, stamina, versatility, and work-rate. Silva began his career at Benfica, and in 2014, he joined Monaco, where he played a key role in the club's win of the 2016–17 Ligue 1 title. He transferred to Manchester City in 2017 for a fee worth up to £50 million and has since won six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, the UEFA Champions League, and the FIFA Club World Cup. Silva was named in the PFA Team of the Year and won the PFA Fans' Player of the Year in 2018–19, and was awarded the league's Player of the Season in 2018–19.
